Board subcommittee advances public comment and material sales policies

Amherst Board of Education Policy Subcommittee recommends multilingual public comment procedures. The subcommittee recommended allowing public comments in speakers' preferred languages with district translation support and continuing written submissions when in-person meetings resume. Policy DN revisions will allow families to purchase materials designated for their child's use, subject to approval by the Department Head and Director of Finance.
The material sales policy revisions advance to the full School Committee for a vote.
