Amherst Deed Data Shows Wide Price Gap, Most September Sales Still Pending

Hampshire County Registry of Deeds recorded 13 documents tied to Amherst properties between Aug. 28 and Sept. 26, though five were homestead declarations, a trustee appointment or an affidavit rather than sales. Only two of the eight actual transfers had a recorded price: $629,900 for 31 Colonial Court, the period's top sale, and $72,300 for 142 State St., sold to UMassFive College Federal Credit Union. The remaining prices had not yet posted to the registry as of Sept. 26, a typical lag rather than a withheld figure. Notable non-priced transfers include the Town of Amherst's acquisition of 6 Eveningstar Drive and two Greenleaves Drive condo units changing hands from a bank to a single buyer.
