DPW paving eight roads week of Oct. 26
The Amherst Department of Public Works says a contractor will pave eight roads the week of Oct. 26, and drivers should expect delays though roads will stay open to traffic.
The Town of Amherst announced Oct. 23 that the Department of Public Works is continuing work on road and sidewalk projects included in this year's Road Paving and Repair Plan, with a contractor paving several roads this week.
Warner Bros. LLC will pave Station Road from Wildflower Drive to 50 Station Road, Wildflower Drive from Old Farm Road to Tanglewood Drive, Old Farm Road from Belchertown Road to its end, Gatehouse Road from Belchertown Road to Stony Hill Road, Grantwood Drive from East Pleasant Street to Blackberry Lane, Blackberry Lane from Grantwood Drive to its end, Flat Hills Road from Shutesbury Road to High Point Drive, and Market Hill Road from Henry Street to Flat Hills Road. All of the roads will remain open to traffic, but the town says delays should be expected.
Work typically runs Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is weather dependent; severe weather will push the schedule back a day, with updates posted as needed.
During construction, on-street parking is prohibited and vehicles will be towed. The town asks drivers to follow directions from detail officers and the on-site engineer, drive slowly through work zones, and seek alternate routes where possible.
Separately, the DPW continues to repair potholes reported through See Click Fix, an online platform for submitting non-emergency issues such as potholes, broken lights, missing street signs, drainage or flooding problems, snow removal needs, and plow damage. Residents can use the See Click Fix website or app to report issues and view completed repairs by filtering for "closed" and "archived" requests.
