Amherst Baseball, Inc. capped its summer with three championship banners as area youth hockey opened registration for the 2026-27 season.

AMHERST -- Youth sports activity in town this week centered on off-season honors and early registration drives rather than live competition; ArbiterLive reported no Amherst Regional High School games during the period.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- Amherst Baseball, Inc.'s website lists three recent championships: the Amherst Royals won the 50/70 Frontier League 2026 championship, the Amherst Koufax Hurricanes won the spring 2026 WMSBL title, and Hadley-Amherst 12u Softball finished as regular season champions. Amherst Baseball and Hadley-Amherst Softball serve players from Amherst, Hadley, Pelham, Shutesbury and Leverett.

On the ice, the Amherst Hockey Association, based in Amherst and a member of Massachusetts Hockey District 6 and USA Hockey, has opened registration for its 2026-27 season, including "Amherst Hockey COED 2026-27 Season Registration," a "Try Hockey for Free" registration option, and "Western Mass Liberty Girls 2026-27 Season Registration." The association's co-ed travel teams compete in the Greater Springfield Junior Hockey League, while its Western Mass Liberty girls' teams play in the New England Girls' Hockey League and the Connecticut Girls Hockey League.
