AMHERST — Valley Green Energy Working Group heard presentation on municipal power aggregation model. Members received a presentation from Henry Herndon, Executive Director of the Community Power Coalition of New Hampshire, which manages power aggregation for 68 municipalities and counties serving 180,000 retail customers. Facilitator Stephanie Ciccarello committed to inviting Samuel Golding, an Amherst resident instrumental in CPCNH's efforts, to the group's September 17 meeting.
Members discussed how Valley Green Energy might scale up using a similar model, with working group member Ben Weil noting that locking in long-term rates over 20 or more years would be key.
