Three finalists named for superintendent position

AMHERST — Regional schools select three superintendent finalists. The Amherst-Pelham Regional School Committee and Union 26 Committee voted unanimously to endorse Dr. Susan Gilson, Dr.
Ericilda Herman, and Dr. Joanne Menard, advancing them to site visits and public forums. Approved unanimously was the site visit plan.
Budget concerns emerged from multiple towns; Pelham and Shutesbury finance committees requested multi-year forecasts before endorsing the FY25 budget, while Amherst's Finance Committee expressed reluctance to support the additional funding increase. Superintendent Douglas Slaughter proposed an April 20 Four Towns meeting to address budget concerns.
