Regional School Committee awards transportation and track contracts.

AMHERST — The Amherst Regional Public Schools Regional School Committee unanimously approved two major capital contracts on March 10. Jennifer Shiao moved approval of a five-year transportation contract with FM Kuzmeskus, Inc., worth $17,803,491.58 and running through FY2030, seconded by Anna Heard. Shiao also moved approval of the Amherst-Pelham Tracks and Fields project to MJ Cataldo for $4,105,800, seconded by Deb Leonard.
During an executive session debrief on Four Towns budget matters, Committee members flagged concerns about the statutory funding formula and its impact on staffing, with Shannon Bernacchia, Director of Finance, tasked with distributing calculations of the statutory assessment method.
