Pelham School Committee maintains superintendent goal despite financial pressures.

Board of Education · Meeting of April 7, 2026

AMHERST — Pelham School Committee declines to revise superintendent Goal 3 despite proposed changes. At its March 3 virtual meeting, Chair Margaret Stancer and the five-member committee heard mixed views on narrowing the goal to address short-term financial planning; after Figurasmith called the question, the vote passed unanimously, but Secretary Sarahbess Kenney clarified no formal motion to update had been made, leaving the goal unchanged. Executive Director of Finance and Operations Shannon Bernacchia presented the Quarter 2 budget update.

A joint school and finance committee meeting is set for March 9 to include a Pelham Elementary School budget presentation, followed by a community budget forum on March 12 and a FY27 budget vote on April 7.
