Board of Education · Meeting of March 4, 2025

AMHERST — Pelham School Committee approves three-year AFSCME labor contract through June 2027. The committee unanimously voted to ratify the agreement, with Director of Human Resources Jenn Ortiz leading negotiations alongside Rupert Roy-Clark, who consolidated prior union agreements and updated contract language for gender neutrality. The committee also heard updates on the Pelham Mentoring Groups program, which is expanding to add fourth graders, and on the Pelham Family Connections initiative, which targets two engagement calls with every family.

Superintendent Dr. Xi Herman reported a four-town education meeting scheduled for Saturday, February 8, and said the district is beginning focus group work for the Portrait of a Graduate initiative.
