Amherst School Committee approves UFCW labor contract through 2027

AMHERST — The Amherst School Committee approves a new labor contract with UFCW Local 1459 through 2027. Chair Sarah Marshall and the Committee unanimously approved a Memorandum of Agreement with UFCW Local 1459 dated June 4, 2024, and the accompanying 2024-2027 contract modifying the existing 2020-2024 agreement. The Committee also unanimously appointed Doreen Reid as Student Services Director for Amherst Elementary Schools, effective July 1, and approved annual merit awards to five paraeducators and two clerical staff members.
Interim Superintendent Slaughter reported that FY22 and FY23 end-of-year audits showed no findings.
