Amherst school building project progresses with March construction timeline

Amherst School Committee advances consolidated school building project as spring construction begins. The committee unanimously approved January 21 minutes and gifts totaling $3,060, with Superintendent Dr. Herman reporting that groundbreaking is complete and steel construction will begin in early March, followed by a topping-off ceremony in late March or early April.
The district announced that DESE has approved a PVCICS enrollment expansion and that the town approved a 3.5 percent FY26 budget increase. Dr. Xi reported implementation of BRIM, an online bullying and harassment reporting system designed to improve student safety and accountability.
