Amherst-Pelham schools adopt 35.3 million budget with capped town assessments

Board of Education · Meeting of April 30, 2024

Amherst-Pelham schools adopt new 35.3 million fiscal 2025 budget with town caps. The Amherst-Pelham Regional School Committee voted 8-0-1, with Ms. Hynes abstaining, to adopt the new budget after a Four Towns meeting on April 20 showed towns preferred 6 percent assessment growth over 8.63 percent.

Interim Superintendent Slaughter said the budget would require cuts approximately half of what administrators originally discussed. Member town assessments for fiscal 2025 are: Amherst $18,838,338; Pelham $1,065,696; Leverett $1,633,447; Shutesbury $1,654,101.
