Amherst-Pelham committee approves $37 million budget in 7-2 vote

Amherst-Pelham Regional School Committee approves $37 million fiscal year 2026 budget in 7-2 vote. The committee voted to adopt the $37,077,171 operational budget using the statutory assessment method, assessing Amherst $19,744,008, Pelham $1,310,503, Leverett $1,863,803, and Shutesbury $1,780,721. Sarahbess Kenney, chair; William Sherr, vice chair; Bridget Hynes; Sarah Marshall; Deb Leonard; Anna Heard; and Jennifer Shiao voted in favor, while Tilman Wolf and Irv Rhodes opposed.
The committee noted that no alternative assessment methods are currently available under the regional agreement.
