Board of Education · Meeting of April 29, 2025
AMHERST — Regional school committee passes $37.1 million FY26 budget after initial rejection. The Amherst Pelham Regional School Committee approved the revised operating budget on an 8-1 vote, with Rhodes abstaining, after an earlier proposal of $36,887,029 failed to win the two-thirds majority required under state law. The approved budget increases Amherst's assessment to $20,062,830, up from $19,872,688.
The committee also passed an amendment capping member towns' annual assessment increases at 6.5 percent and approved $485,000 in capital appropriations for facility upgrades, including fire safety and cooler and freezer equipment for the middle school, on a unanimous vote.
